So....there seems to be a grey area....

OK,

I guess everyone knows I love to read. Love? Yeah.

There's a problem though, I think the list of people asking me if I've read/I'm going to read/telling me I should read 50 shades of grey has gone into the double digits. That's enough people saying something, I think there needs to be some clarifying.

I haven't read it.

I won't read it.

It isn't something I'm interested in, in the slightest, and I'm the person who will (try to read) anything. Now, that statement needs clarification. I will read anything EXCEPT 50 shades of grey or any other trashy pornographic romance novel. (Please note I'm not linking that book to its amazon page because I am in NO WAY suggesting anyone read the book. ALSO, everything I know about that book I learned from reading Amazon and Goodreads reviews. Those reviews are lifesavers.)

I would not be OK with my husband watching porn. (He doesn't. It is a non-issue. I'm totally blessed by my husband) I'm not okay as a woman with reading porn. I personally believe porn is what that book is. Sorry if I've offended you.

I think with quite a few people there was also a major and scary (to me) misunderstanding.

I recently read Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde and absolutely loved the book. I'm pretty sure Goodreads put the book and its completion onto my Facebook page and gave people the impression I read the other "grey" book. Um...they're absolutely nothing alike. Shades of Grey is more easily put in a crazy futuristic Sci-Fi dystopian genre than the trashy romance novel genre.

I am absolutely embarrassed that people think I have read the other book.

I am also disappointed there were people who think I WOULD read that book. I'm grateful for the people who questioned me when they thought I had. I'm blessed by friends who were so shocked by the thought of me reading that book they called me out on something so inappropriate.

Oh man I've probably done some serious offending just now. This blog's purpose was entirely to clarify, not to condemn.

Just know, I'm always on the lookout for great reads. If I have a minute to sit down (nap-time, bed-time, a minute of peace-time) I read. If you've read a good or interesting book feel free to recommend it to me. I'll get to it eventually! Except trashy romance novels. I won't read those. Don't recommend them. Please.

Thanks friends.
