Today, that chunka monka turns 1. This has been a whirlwind year. We have gone through so much change and sleep deprivation, I cannot believe its only been a year. Here are 12 facts and 12 monthly pictures of this Sweet girl. Happy Birthday, Sweet P. We love you!

1. P LOVES people. She makes friends wherever we go. She stops at every table when we're leaving a restaurant to greet strangers. She flirts with people in line. She smiles at everyone. She loves people.

2. She has been a terrible sleeper since day one. Up until she was 10.5 months old, P was up every 1-2 hours all night long. Nothing helped. Not swaddling, not cosleeping, nothing. Nothing. It took major intervention to get her sleeping.

3. She was a gigantic baby. She was a 10 pound 6 ounce chunker. She was often times placed in a bassinet next to the 4-5 pounder in the nursery. That was a funny sight to see. She is perfectly sized, but still not hurting for a meal!

4. She is a lover, a snuggler, a hugger, a kisser, a back-patter, a hair twirler, an overall lover. She loves on whoever is holding her or close to her.

5. She is, in spite of all her sleep issues, the absolute happiest human ever. She is always joyful. She is not discreet about her joy. She is generous with it. She is loud with it. You cannot be unhappy around this child.

6. She is a dancer. If there is music on, she starts dancing. She swings her arms. She shakes her booty. She tries to twirl. She sings. She moves. She loves to dance.

7. She talks a ton. The words she knows (there are lots of them) she speaks very clearly. She uses her words to get what she wants and to let us know what she needs. She uses her gibberish to entertain us.

8. She is funny, and knows it. If she gets a laugh she will do whatever she did again to get another laugh. She loves laughing and loves making us all laugh!

9. She has always been determinedly in a hurry. She smiled early, laughed early, rolled early, crawled early, and walked early. She wants to be a part of everything everyone is doing. That required her to hustle!

10. She is a climber! She has been an all out monkey since she was mobile (which was really young). She is outrageously strong and can get up on anything at or even above her height. She finds hand holds and foot holds in the tiniest of spaces and wriggles up on ANYTHING and will use whatever she is on to get onto something higher. She doesn't fall off anything. We worked really early to teach her safe "dismounts" instead of stopping her from climbing on things. I'll occasionally go stand near whatever she is climbing or ask her to stop climbing until I can get close enough to monitor her, but I usually don't worry because she is a monkey. Seriously.

11. She loves, I mean LOVES her sister. K is her all time favorite person. I'm a close second only because I provide the nourishment, but I'll soon be passed by her daddy.

12. Her favorite thing to play with is a baby doll. Any doll, or anything remotely resembling a doll will do. She rocks, bounces, "shhh"'s, pats their back, and loves on her dolls. She puts them to bed. She nurses them. She loves real babies and doesn't understand why she can't hold them and love them, too.
Oh, P, we love you so! You are a delight. You are never a dull moment. We look forward to watching you grow!
